What Is The Tsukemen? Is It Ramen?

Do you know Tsukemen?

Have you ever seen Ramen that is separated to soup and noodles? Does It sound like incomplete cooking Ramen? Yes, it is completed. Japanese call it “Tsuke-men”. I think you’ve already known “Soba”. Soba is also separated soup and noodles, isn’t it. So Tsuke-men is a kind of Soba version of Ramen. Why are these separated? I don’t know… but I think it is for the taste.

So today, I’m going to share you my favorite Tsuke-men restaurant at Shibuya. It’s called “Kichitora”. Shibuya has many Ramen / Tsukemen restaurants. I think Kichitora is the best one haha.

This is the restaurant. There a bench for waiting if there is queue. By the way, some of the shop staffs can speak English and Chinese a bit. There is english on the menu too. So don’t be afraid to enter.

When you enter here, Shop staff will ask you that how many people are you guys. There are a long counter table and some tables for 2 people. Then you need to buy a tick (Japanese call it “Shokken”). This is the machine. My recommendation menu is top left one. Give the ticket to the staff when you order. And then you can choose volume how much you want to eat noodles. There are 6 levels. Small(220g)、 Medium(350g)、 X-Medium(500g)、 Large(650g)、 X-Large(750g). If you are exhausted and starving, try X-Large 😉

This is the one I recommended you. Size is X-Medium. I really love this one. Tasty chiken soup with tasted egg. To eat, scoop the soup by noodles. This combination is perfect!

Inside the soup, there are porks, egg, naruto and so on. Naruto is not Ninja guy. It’s next to pork, looks like white with pick line. It’s made from fish.
